Angela’s first day in marketing

Hi! I’m Angela, Delivered Social’s newest recruit as Marketing Assistant.

To be completely honest, I wasn’t too sure what to expect within my first week in marketing, having come from a background of sales and events. This was a whole new adventure for me, and an exciting one at that!

Jumping straight in…

I was thrown right into the deep end which was ideal. Who wants to start a new role and be made to sit in a dingy meeting room watching slide after slide about what we do and how? Not me. Thankfully, Jon and the team had all my logins set, emails etc, and I was shadowing my colleague which is, in my opinion, the perfect way to train.
As the days continued, I had already learned heaps about strategy; how any client can maximise their social media reach. I have used software such as Meet Edgar, Follow Liker and Paint.Net.

Within my first week, I have learned to create bespoke advertising images. I have scheduled over 100 Facebook posts and over 100 Tweets. Also, I have been given the responsibility of 3 key clients’ Instagram accounts, which require updating daily. And, I have also managed to learn how to make a semi-decent cup of tea, which is the only thing I’m really failing on at current. Finally, I’ll keep you posted on that progress.

Overall…

My first week has been smooth sailing from the minute I walked in the door. I have slotted nicely into an exceptional team full of knowledge and class-A banter. Also, I have learned so much about the business and the potential I have within this role. Now I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me here at Delivered Social…
