Introducing Lucy… My first day at Delivered Social

Hi! :) I’m Lucy, and I’m the new Marketing Assistant here at Delivered Social. I am a performer at heart and studied musical theatre and contemporary vocals. But, I found my niche in marketing through my love of social media and writing. I live for the simple things in life – think puppies, fresh bedsheets, Krispy Kreme doughnuts (or any doughnuts to be honest), finding two quid on the floor, realising you have one crisp left when you’ve already mentally prepared yourself for finishing the bag… Really, I could waffle on forever about things that amuse me. However, I won’t bore you, so I’ll give you an insight into what my first day was like at Delivered Social.

Monday

0900 hours

A bit of a later start than the usual Delivered Social working day. But I wasn’t complaining because I got an extra hour in bed! I arrive (almost walking into the office next door, mind you) and there was not a single ounce of ‘Monday Morning’ vibe in the room. I was warmly greeted by my new colleagues, shown to my lovely new desk and handed a cuppa. All whilst thinking to myself, “I could get used to this!”. Jon, our MD, eased me into the swing of things. He gave me the task of updating and uploading to some of our clients’ social media accounts. This was before showing me the big gun marketing platforms. This was all in between throwing banter around the office. It was a lot to wrap my head around (the software, not the banter!). But I got there in the end.

1200 hours

At midday, we had a team meeting I was assigned. the responsibility of manning the Delivered Social Facebook page as well as an email marketing campaign. Before I knew it, it was 4.30 and time to go home! This is brilliant as not once did I clock watch throughout the entire day. I know I’m going to look forward to Monday mornings from now on.

All in all, I absolutely loved my first day with this amazing company, the Delivered Social team are awesome and I’m extremely excited to get stuck in!
