Today’s session was one that really reflects on how we work as a company.

At Delivered Social we are all about helping; be it a charity, a client asking for advice or a staff member needing an extra hand with something. We work in this way because we want to, not because we have to.

The Idea…

This leads to Jon’s amazing idea of helping those who are searching for a job, especially in these uncertain times.

Delivered Social are offering to create a free one-page CV website for those who are unemployed.

Where this idea stemmed from…

As you have no doubt already guessed from the blog title… Timpson.

Here is the message Timpson put up on their website:

“UNEMPLOYED? GOT AN INTERVIEW?

At Timpson we’ll help you look your best when times are tough so if you’re unemployed and going for an interview we’ll clean an outfit for you free of charge.”

If you were to use this service and let’s say you were successful… after receiving a job offer from the company that you wore this dry-cleaned suit to… who would you think of in this happy hour?

That’s right, Timpson.

So, we want the same mentality applied when one applies for a job and receives an invitation for an interview.

We will help you get the interview; Timpson will get you looking your best.

To the get ball rolling, we selected the best ingredients for our master plan:

• Social media post on LinkedIn.
• Have a link that goes straight to Delivered Social’s website, where they will be able to fill out a form with the relevant details for their CV website – including an area to upload a PDF version of their CV (Jon taught us how to make a contact form using Elfsight, which has many a tool for adding different kinds of widgets!).
• Email blast asking for likes, shares and comments (we want this to be seen!).
• Showcase what the website can look like.
• Email PR company (newsworthy indeed).

Star Trek Incoming… any idea what Memory Alpha is?

I bet you have heard of Wikipedia, am I wrong? Well, after answering that, I am sure you have clocked that Memory Alpha is the Wiki for Star Trek.

We had a good five, maybe ten minutes looking through the different starship names, our favourite being Crazy Horse.

No… it wasn’t, but that was a starship that was certainly threatened as an office nickname.

The reason why Star Trek made another appearance in one of our 90-minute sessions, is simply because we needed a new project name. The name we finally all agreed on was Endeavour 1895. All the ships with 5 numbers didn’t roll off the tongue quite so well, which helped with the final decision.

Ingredients Mixed and Ready to Cook

With plans in place and posts out, the 90-minute session had come to an end. This time we did go a little over 90 minutes, but it was worth it in order to help those in need of a job.
