Delivered Social Working With Scotty’s Rugby

What is Scotty’s Rugby?

Scotty’s Rugby is a rugby team that fundraises for the charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers. This is an amazing charity that works to support children and young people who have been affected by the death of a parent serving in the British Armed Forces.

The team came about originally in 2013, after a Scotty’s Little Soldiers team went head to head with an HM Armed Forces team to play a game of rugby for 24 consecutive hours, breaking the world record at the time, and raising over £50,000 for the charity! A year later, a group of players and referees from this event got together again to play 7s rugby in support of the charity. From this, Scotty’s Tigers were born, playing to raise money and awareness for the charity both in the UK and across the globe. The players came from a wide range of backgrounds, including current service personnel, veterans, and civilians. The thing that bound them together was an understanding of the valuable work that Scotty’s Little Soldiers does. In 2015, another marathon rugby match took place against School of Hard Knocks, setting another world record, this time playing for over 28 hours!

In 2020, Scotty’s Tigers rebranded and became Scotty’s Rugby, only to be disturbed by the Covid-19 pandemic. So, 2021 sees the launch of the new branded Scotty’s Rugby, with a genuine tie to the charity and the heroes who have served their country.

The team embodies the charity motto “Help Them Smile,” being a team that wants to enjoy rugby and give something back to the children of our fallen heroes.

What are we doing with Scotty’s Rugby?

Delivered Social are proud to be helping Scotty’s Rugby with a social media campaign that is mainly designed to promote their brand new team kit. The proceeds from sales of this kit will go towards the charity, so it is important to promote it as much as possible to get those valuable funds! With two designs available, designed to honour all military personnel, this is a very exciting step for the team, and everyone at Delivered Social is very excited to be able to support them in their mission.

We are also working to produce some more general, ‘Evergreen’ posts for Scotty’s Rugby, to help promote them and the wonderful charity they support even further. It is important for any charity to have a solid social media presence, as it helps them to reach even more people and get the support and donations that they need to function.
