Georgie's First week at Delivered Social

Hi there! I’m Georgie! I’m Delivered Social’s newest recruit, and I’ve joined the team to help with all the office admin work.

I had no idea what to expect during my first week. I was incredibly nervous on my first day, but the team made me feel comfortable straight away.

Hannah (the business development director) and Jon (the CEO) threw me straight into the deep end with some fairly technical and difficult tasks. These jobs might have seemed easy to them, but it was hard to get to grips with them at first!

After settling in on Monday and Tuesday, I was presented with a brand new challenge on Wednesday. This was actually getting to work! The so-called ‘beast from the east’ had hit, and my bus route into work was cancelled altogether due to the snow. Eek!

I ended up working from home, which made everyone in the office a bit jealous. The commute-ruining level of snowfall stressed me out, but it’s hilarious in hindsight! On Thursday I managed to make in, but on Friday I was trapped by snow again. It feels a bit funny to have spent two-fifths of my first week sitting on a laptop at home, but hey ho. I still feel like I’ve settled in and learned the ropes.

As I progressed through the week, I definitely learnt about things that I’ve never even heard of before! Some of the marketing tools we use are out of this world, and I didn’t know about half of the things that you can do with Gmail! The only thing I need to learn now is how to make a decent cup of tea which, I am hopeless at!!

Overall my first week has been lovely, and the team have made me feel very at home! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for my role here! :)
