Introducing World Child Cancer: Delivered Social Green

Introducing World Child Cancer, the newest members of our Delivered Social Green initiative! This wonderful charity was founded in 2007, and since then has supported many children with cancer and their families in nine programmes across Africa, Asia, and Central America.

Did you know that over 300,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year? If the disease is detected early enough, many of these children can be cured. This is shown as 80% of children with cancer in the high-income world survive. However, in low and middle-income countries, survival rates can be as low as 10%, with many children dying without effective pain relief.

A reason for this inequality is that many children remain undiagnosed, or are diagnosed too late to be cured, due to a shortage of trained doctors and nurses in their counties.

This charity is dedicated to addressing the disparity of cancer care for children across the world. Their mission is to improve diagnosis, treatment and support for children with cancer, and their families, in the low and middle-income world. And, their vision is a world where every child with cancer has equal access to the best treatment and care.

What are we doing with World Child Cancer?

We are working with the charity to build them a brand new website, as well as working on some social media campaigns for them. Having an effective website is a must for any charity. It gives them a great platform to shout about the work they do, and also makes it easier for people to find them through search engines such as Google. Websites also offer an easy platform to collect donations, which are vital to the running of all charities! Furthermore, a good social media presence is also vital for charities to further promote what they do and build up a solid following of people who support their work. We’re delighted to be working with them and, as always, all of our Delivered Social Green work is carried out on a pro-bono basis.
