90 Minutes – Top Tip

My recommendation, if you do choose to embark on the same 30-day challenge as us…is to invest in timer so obnoxious, you won’t forget to start it.

One of the first things that we covered in today’s session was to take advantage of Google Alerts. These alerts are something that most of you would have heard about, especially if you have inbox savvy colleagues in your office. After Jon demonstrated the nifty tool, we immediately saw the appeal.

When setting up an alert, you simply put in your keyword or phrase. E.g. Marketing Webinars. The alert will monitor the web with the filters you apply (the source of the content, location, how often etc…), and will send you alerts with news and updates with your chosen word or phrase. Some of the articles that come back, may not be of interest, but others…well they might shine a light on something you ordinarily would have missed. One alert may even lead to you connecting with someone that shares a common interest with you. This interest could be built further by inviting them to join you for a podcast or webinar as mentioned earlier.

So… in less than 10 minutes you can get an alert, connect with someone, and build your network.

One Stale Biscuit Later…

Jon whipped out the collection of post-it notes, where the content of blueprint laid. These post-it notes were then divided (almost equally) amongst us. The next step was to apply the following to each day of Blueprint; Title, goal, description, bonus goal and W.W.D.S.D.

Once each day had been written up – which was going to happen in tomorrow’s 90-minutes. We would be that one step closer to our app-building day – hooray!

For those that download our Blueprint app, you will come to see that Jon will be releasing informative snippets daily. So, for the videoing to commence… a desk ring light was needed. In less than 10 seconds an array of options were available, within these 10 seconds a light was ordered… to the wrong address. In less than five seconds… Jon managed to fix this.

Swiftly, our session came to an end. The plan for tomorrow was in place and our goals at the forefront of our minds. In tune with 90-minutes, yes – we just need to work on the timer.
