Overview.
A clear, community-focused charity website that explains how the Trust funds local projects and makes it simple to apply or donate.
The Haslemere Penny Ha’Penny Trust is a charitable trust that gives grants to organisations and projects that improve life for people in the Haslemere area. Its name honours Hannah Oakford, the town’s last water carrier, who charged a penny ha’penny for a bucket of water until 1898. We designed and built a WordPress website, donated through the Delivered Social Green Initiative, that tells this story and connects the Trust with local groups and supporters.
The Challenge.
Showing a small local trust’s impact and making giving and applying effortless.
The Trust relies on local generosity and wants as many community groups as possible to know that funding is available. The website needed to build trust quickly, show real examples of grants at work and make the routes to donate, claim Gift Aid and apply for funding clear and easy.
The Results.
A trusted local home online that helps more Haslemere projects get the support they need.
The finished site gives the Trust a confident, welcoming presence that reflects its long local history. Supporters can see exactly how grants are used, donate and claim Gift Aid in a few clicks, and local organisations can find everything they need to apply.
