Overview.

A branch website built around every animal's next chapter.

RSPCA Cambridgeshire Mid-East is an independent branch charity working alongside the RSPCA's inspectors, raising and spending its money locally to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals. We designed a warm, easy to use WordPress website that puts adoption first, with friendly illustrated animals guiding visitors to the help they need, whether they want to adopt, are struggling with a pet, or want to support the branch.

  • WordPress CMS: The branch team can add animals for adoption, events and news themselves.

  • Adoption First: Adoption listings, the adoption process and adopter stories sit right at the front of the site.

  • Friendly Illustrated Design: Cut out animal illustrations guide visitors through every section and feel warm and local.

  • Clear Routes for Every Visitor: Adopt, I Need Help, Ways to Help and What We Do keep every journey simple.

  • Free Website Design & Build: RSPCA Cambridgeshire Mid-East's website was created at no cost through Delivered Social Green, so the branch can keep its funding focused on the animals in its care.

The Challenge.

Many different visitors, one simple journey.

People arrive at an RSPCA branch website for very different reasons. Some want to adopt, some have lost a pet, some need help with vet bills or pet food, and some need to report cruelty to the national RSPCA. The branch needed a website that handled all of these calmly and clearly, while still giving fundraising, volunteering and its charity shops the space they deserve.

  • Many Reasons to Visit: Adopters, worried owners, supporters and people reporting cruelty all needed the right route.

  • Help for Owners: Lost and found, help with vet bills and pet food banks needed to be easy to find.

  • Working With the National RSPCA: Report a Concern and the branch finder needed to link clearly to the national charity.

  • Shops, Education and Events: Retail, school resources and fundraising events all needed their own space.

The Results.

A branch website people trust and come back to.

Adopt a pet, I need help and donate now sit right at the top of the page, with Report a Concern always one click away. Happy adoption stories from Spike, Rex and Meg show what a second chance looks like, while education resources, events and pet food bank information show how much more the branch does. The result is a welcoming, practical website that helps more animals find their forever homes.
