Overview.
A city wide mission, told with dignity.
It Takes a City is working to end homelessness and rough sleeping in Cambridge. Taking a trauma informed approach, it runs services including the Crossways winter shelter, The Haven women only space and Street Storage, alongside campaigns such as its Community Land Trust. We built a powerful WordPress website that brings every service, story and campaign together under one clear message.
The Challenge.
Lots of services, one simple message.
It Takes a City runs a growing number of services and campaigns, and speaks to people who need help right now as well as supporters, partners, volunteers and policy makers. The website needed to make getting help obvious, tell people's stories with dignity, and give advocacy work such as the charter and women's homelessness the space it deserves.
The Results.
A digital home for a city wide movement.
The finished site leads with a looping aerial film of Cambridge and a clear promise to build pathways from street to home. Contact and Donate stay in the header, stories from Kate, Row and Brian show what support looks like, and a news feed keeps supporters up to date. With volunteering, fundraising and newsletter sign ups throughout, the site helps It Takes a City bring the whole city with it.
