Our work with Wiltshire Treehouse
Wiltshire Treehouse is a charity dedicated to providing specialist grief support for children and young people affected by the death of someone important to them, operating across Swindon and Wiltshire. The charity’s digital challenge was paramount: they needed a website that conveyed sensitivity, safety, and professionalism, whilst clearly signposting two very distinct audiences, bereaved families seeking support, and donors/professionals looking to refer or fundraise. The platform had to be a safe, welcoming, and easy-to-navigate resource during an incredibly difficult time for families.
We approached the project with a high degree of sensitivity in our discovery phase, understanding that the design and language needed to build immediate trust with vulnerable families. We mapped two primary user journeys: one for the family seeking help, prioritising a simple referral form and clear information on ‘Our Offer’; and another for the professional/donor, focusing on ‘How to Support Us’. The overall strategy emphasised warmth, clarity, and ease of access to support.
We executed a clean, minimal design using gentle imagery and a reassuring colour palette, creating a calm online space. Crucially, we implemented dual, highly visible buttons for “Make A Referral” and “Donate,” ensuring both critical calls-to-action were easy to find. Dedicated pages were structured to clearly outline their services (group work, one-to-one support) and policies, demonstrating accountability and expertise to both parents and referring organisations.
