Respected is an incredible UK charity created by medical and educational professionals to deliver holistic Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) programmes for students aged 11 to 16. By focusing on the core message that every young person is unique and valuable, they equip schools, parents, and carers with the practical tools and resources needed to help teenagers navigate relationships safely and confidently.

The Challenge.

Designing a trustworthy platform for sensitive, high-impact educational content.

Delivering relationships and sex education involves handling sensitive topics that require a balance of warmth, authority, and safety. The challenge for Respected was creating a website that felt entirely secure and supportive for students whilst remaining highly professional and organised for teachers and school leadership teams.

  • Segmenting Diverse Audiences: The website needed to host vastly different content for educators looking for PSHE materials, parents seeking guidance, and students looking for confidential help.

  • Communicating Statistics and Impact Safely: With key data on consent and healthy choices to display, the interface required a layout that highlights real-world success metrics without cluttering the page.

  • Building Trust with Gatekeepers: Headteachers and safeguarding leads need complete confidence before introducing a programme, meaning the site had to highlight professional credentials seamlessly.

  • Facilitating Easy Programme Registration: The platform had to simplify the process for schools to sign up, redeem promotional codes, and explore resources for years 7 through 11.
