Overview.

Every set designed to order, every order easy to start.

Bkery is Martina’s biscuit studio in Portsmouth. A pastry chef turned biscuit maker, she designs and hand-ices every set for birthdays, weddings, baby showers and businesses. Her work already had a loyal following on Instagram, so the new website needed to show it off properly and turn admirers into orders.

  • WordPress CMS: Martina can add new sets, update her FAQs and change her lead times without needing a developer.

  • Live Instagram Gallery: The homepage pulls in her latest sets straight from @bkeryportsmouth, so the site stays as fresh as her feed.

  • Hand-Drawn Feel: Raspberry Icing and Bkery Pink with Pistachio Olive, set in Fraunces italics, to match her playful, handmade logo.

  • Four Simple Steps: A clear How to Order section explains the idea, quote, deposit and collection before anyone gets in touch.

  • Quick Requests: An enquiry form and an Order biscuits bar on mobile make it easy to ask about a date.

The Challenge.

Turning a busy Instagram into booked dates.

Martina’s biscuits were getting noticed on Instagram, but orders arrived through scattered DMs with missing details. Every set is priced to its design, so customers needed to understand the process, share the right information and book early, because her dates go quickly.

  • Showcasing Detailed Work: Fine icing and hand-painted designs needed big, crisp photos that do the craft justice.

  • Explaining Custom Pricing: With no fixed menu, the site had to set expectations about quotes and the 50% deposit.

  • Capturing the Right Details: Enquiries needed the date, occasion, colours and quantity from the very first message.

  • Celebrating Local Business: Martina’s Cookie City Project, recreating Southsea’s independent shops in biscuit, deserved its own spotlight.

The Results.

A studio window that never closes.

The new homepage opens with Martina herself, whisk in hand, and the promise of biscuits worth talking about. A rolling list of occasions leads into her Instagram gallery, the Cookie City Project and a four-step guide to ordering, ending with a simple request form. Built on WordPress and designed mobile first, it gives Bkery a proper home online and makes it easier than ever to book a date with Martina.
