Overview.

A lively Anglican church across two sites.

Christ Church Abingdon is a lively, diverse Anglican church in North Abingdon, meeting across two sites at Northcourt Road and Long Furlong. Their new website brings both sites together in one clear, welcoming place, with Sunday service times up front, a searchable archive of more than 600 sermons, live events from ChurchSuite and simple first steps for anyone thinking of visiting.

WordPress CMS: Easy-to-edit pages so the church office can update news sheets, term cards, vacancies and new sermons themselves.
Searchable Sermon Archive: More than 600 talks moved across from the old site, sorted by series and speaker with SoundCloud players built in.
Calm, Brand-Led Design: Deep navy, fresh aqua and soft mint give the church a modern, friendly look across every page.
Clear Routes In: Mega menus that guide visitors to Sundays, church life, small groups and community ministries.
Free Website Design & Build: Christ Church Abingdon’s new website was designed and built for free through Delivered Social Green, leaving more of the church’s budget for its people and community.

The Challenge.

Bringing a busy church family together online.

Christ Church runs four Sunday services across two sites, alongside groups for every age, courses, pastoral care and work in the local community. Their old website had grown over many years and held a large library of recorded sermons that needed to come across too. The new site had to feel welcoming to first-time visitors while giving the church family everything they rely on week to week.

A Warm Welcome for Newcomers: Clear I’m New and What to Expect pages for anyone thinking of visiting.
Two Sites, One Church: Showing Northcourt Road and Long Furlong side by side as one church family.
Years of Sermons Moved Across: The full sermon archive brought over so nothing was lost in the move.
Easy to Keep Up to Date: Simple tools for the office to share news sheets, events and vacancies.

The Results.

A clear, welcoming home for the whole church.

The new website gives Christ Church Abingdon a clear, welcoming online home that reflects the warmth of its two congregations. Visitors can find service times in seconds, catch up on recent sermons, see what is coming up and get in touch, while the church office can keep news sheets, term cards and vacancies up to date without any technical help.
