A place to turn when home feels out of reach.
The Roberts Centre has been helping children and families across Portsmouth since 1985, when it began as a day centre for families living in bed and breakfast accommodation. Today it runs a day nursery, tenancy and family support, a Life Skills Project for young people and help for Afghan families settling in the UK. We built a warm, purple WordPress website that brings every service together and makes the right support easy to find.
The Challenge.
Many services, one clear front door.
The Roberts Centre has grown far beyond its first day centre. Housing support for two councils, a nursery in Fratton, a programme for young people and help for Afghan families all needed explaining, and each one speaks to a different audience. The website had to keep things simple for families under pressure, while also bringing in the donations, sponsors, staff and volunteers the charity relies on.
The Results.
A website as welcoming as the centre itself.
A full-width photo of the team sets a friendly tone, and rounded service cards lead families straight to the help they need. The nursery has its own section for sessions, pricing, enrolment and Mini Minds Matter, while Help Support Us and Work With Us give donors, sponsors and new staff a clear next step. News, social posts and supporter logos show a busy, trusted charity at the heart of Portsmouth.
