Overview.

A bold, neon-lit website that captures the camp, glamour and mischief of The Fallen Angel and makes booking a night out quick and easy.

The Fallen Angel is Guildford’s only cocktail and cabaret bar, tucked inside The Angel Hotel at 91 High Street, one of the oldest buildings on Surrey’s most famous high street. Drag bingo, drag quizzes, bottomless brunches, live music and cabaret nights fill the calendar, and the venue doubles as a space for private parties and rehearsals. We designed and built a WordPress website that feels as loud, warm and welcoming as a night at the bar itself.

  • WordPress CMS: The team adds new shows, updates menus and posts news to The Word without needing a developer.
  • Bookable What’s On Calendar: Every event, from Drag Bingo to the Drag Bottomless Brunch, has its own listing with date, price and a Book button, and visitors can filter by category or date.
  • Neon Cabaret Design: Angel Pink and Cocktail Blue neon, a rainbow header and Poppins type set the mood before anyone reads a word.
  • Clear Routes to a Night Out: What’s On, Private Hire, Menus and the Gallery are one tap away on every page, with a Book Now button always in view.
  • Live Google Reviews: A reviews feed on the homepage shows 4.8 stars from 189 Google reviews, so first-time visitors can see what the regulars think.

The Challenge.

Bringing a Packed Calendar to Life Online.

With more than 40 shows listed at any one time, The Fallen Angel needed far more than a brochure site. The website had to keep pace with weekly drag nights and brunches, sell tickets, promote private hire for birthdays, celebrations and business meetings, and still capture a personality that is, in the venue’s own words, sometimes vulgar but always respectful and never, ever dull.

  • Keeping Events Up to Date: Shows change every week, so listings had to be quick to add and easy for customers to browse by category and date.
  • Selling Tickets Online: Each event needed a clear price and a booking route that works on a phone, even in a busy bar.
  • Promoting Private Hire: Parties, rehearsals and daytime meetings needed their own space alongside the nightly entertainment.
  • Capturing the Personality: The design had to feel as bold, inclusive and cheeky as the shows on stage.

The Results.

A website with as much sparkle as the stage, and a What’s On page that does the selling.

The new website gives The Fallen Angel a home online that feels like walking through the door, with neon wings, a rainbow header and a calendar packed with drag, cabaret and comedy. Customers can see what’s on, check prices and book in a couple of taps, while private hire and menus are always close at hand. Behind the scenes the team updates everything themselves through WordPress, and Delivered Social continues to host the site.
