Overview.
A safe, sensitive website designed to help survivors of domestic abuse find support, begin their recovery and have their voices heard.
VOICES is a Bath-based charity founded in 2014 by women with lived experience of domestic abuse. It offers recovery support and advocacy for people affected by abuse, from guidance, signposting and one-to-one support to group programmes such as the Recovery Toolkit, Breathe Free and the Freedom Programme, alongside a legal clinic, counselling and a Lived Experience Forum that makes sure survivors help shape the services they use.
The Challenge.
Building a Safe Online Space for Survivors.
People visiting a domestic abuse charity’s website may be frightened, in danger or using a device that someone else can check. VOICES needed a site that put safety first, felt warm and non-judgemental, and explained a wide range of recovery services clearly, while also giving professionals, funders and supporters the confidence to refer, donate and get involved.
The Results.
A safe, compassionate platform that helps survivors reach support and helps VOICES grow its impact.
The new website gives VOICES a professional, caring online presence that matches the importance of its work. Survivors can explore support and take their first steps towards recovery with confidence, professionals can make referrals easily, and supporters have clear ways to donate, volunteer and champion the charity’s mission of challenging domestic abuse and saving lives.
