Christmas RAK Day 2019!
Delivered Social’s RAK Day got festive…
At Delivered Social, we’re pretty well known in the Guildford area for our famous Random Act of Kindness (RAK) Days! We’ve done them many times before, but this time we decided to do something a bit different. Enter Delivered Social’s Christmas RAK Day 2019!
What is RAK Day?
On RAK Day, the team get in at 7 am ready for one of the most important tasks of the day: distributing the RAK Day leaflets! We ran around Guildford town centre, posting leaflets through the doors of businesses. These invited them to enter a code on our Facebook page to get a Christmas RAK Day gift! After that, we returned to the office to wait for the codes to come in. The team then split into groups, with one group heading off again to deliver the first round of festive gifts. This carried on all day until we ran out of gifts! It was amazing to see so many local businesses getting involved. We loved spreading some Christmas cheer around the Guildford community, and hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did. Check out our video from the day here:
Why do we do it?
RAK Day is not just a bit of fun. We also do it to raise some funds for various charities that are close to our hearts. For our Christmas RAK Day, we chose Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. We’ve done a lot of work with Sands and really admire everything they do. As our CEO Jonathan has just become a Trustee of Sands, we, unfortunately, won’t be able to do as much work with them as we used to. So, we wanted to say thank you to this wonderful charity for working with us by raising some money! For every RAK Day gift we dropped off, we also donated £1 to Sands. So, thank you to everyone who took part, not only for being good fun but also for helping us to raise some much-needed funds! To find out more about Sands, please visit their website here.
Thanks again to everyone who took part in Delivered Social’s Christmas RAK Day. We can’t wait to do it again in 2020! If you’d like to see more pictures from the day, head over to our RAK Day page here.
